Each episode tells the story behind each inmate’s incarceration and the factors that parole board members use to help decide whether an inmate should be paroled or denied parole. Filming took place over multiple trips between May and August. The Arri Amira was the workhorse for this two-camera series. “It is an ergonomically balanced camera system,” says Benjamin, “especially when combined with the Canon CN7x17 Cine-Servo 17-120mm lens.”
This series took crews from parole board meetings in Downtown Denver to minimum and maximum security prisons through Colorado and Wyoming.
